Below you will find answers to any questions we get asked most frequently. You will also find an Information Pack in the Lodge to help you find your way round the area and to settle in. If you have any questions that aren’t covered below, please contact us.
You can arrive anytime after 3pm on the day you are booked to arrive. Please do not arrive any earlier as we will not be able to give you the keys until after this time. If you expect to arrive after 9pm, please contact us. We lock the Wooden Gates near the house 9pm until 9am.
There is free Wi-Fi in the Lodge, however due to our rural location we cannot guarantee signal strength or availability.
Checkout time is by 11.00am on the day of departure.
Unfortunately we are unable to charge electric cars, due to the limited electric supply, the nearest charge point is at the York Designer Outlet (approximately 6 miles away).
Due to the rural location you may experience difficulties with the mobile phone network. Unfortunately the reason for this is outside our control and we cannot guarantee signal strength or availability. You may be able to connect to the o2 network in certain areas but other networks are very poor.
Unfortunately there aren't any local but we have seen good recommendations for Brian Thornton from B & D taxis, you can text him on 07885 205693 or Toadstool Cabs on 07973 828017.
Unfortunately we aren't on a bus route, the nearest bus stop is in Skipwith village, which is 1 mile away. Although it isn't far, we don't recommend walking along the main road as motorists don't expect to see pedestrians along these country lanes.
Take a look at the Visit York page https://www.visityork.org/ or we do advertise any local events on our @fhflodges Facebook page too.
