Our small farm is only a few minutes drive away from Skipwith Common, which includes some waymarked trails for you to enjoy. Below are some ideas of where to visit when staying in the Lodge:
- Dorothy’s Drop-in – small cafe in Skipwith open Wednesday & Friday 9am-12pm (please double check their facebook page for opening days/times)
- Lower Derwent Valley NNR – you can see their blog with some lovely local wildlife pictures
- Stillingfleet Lodge Gardens – please check their opening times on their website, they also hold workshops and events
- Wheldrake Ings Nature Reserve – floodplain supporting overwintering birds along with local wildlife
- Cycle the Solar System to York – a short drive to a car park or for those who cycle regularly you can start from the Lodge
- Visit York – an ideal place to start planning your visit to York including Events and Things to Do
- Explore the Heart of Yorkshire – a new website showcasing a range of activities and experiences that the Selby District has to offer
- Carlton Towers – they host several events throughout the year including outdoor seasonal markets, vineyard tour etc
- Riccall Round Walks – choice of either a 5 or 6 mile circular walk from a village which is just a short drive away
- Naburn Locks with nearby Waterfront Cafe at Naburn Marina or Blacksmith Arms
- Circular walks by York Civic Trust – Themed & heritage walks in and around York
- Selby Abbey – historic building almost a 1000 years old
